Don’t Tweet and Drive

Famed Hollywood plastic surgeon  Dr. Frank Ryan who performed ten cosmetic surgeries on “The Hills” star  Heidi Montag on one day, died recently when his car ran off the road.

People Magazine reported that Dr. Ryan was “was sending a Twitter message about his border collie just before his fatal car accident.”

In this world that we live today where are phones are part of our DNA, people still forget that a car is a machine that needs to be used with both hands.

A Pew’s Internet and American Life Project found that 47% of adult drivers admitted to sending or reading text messages while driving.

Earlier this year, Oprah Winfrey started th No Phone Zone campaign to make people promise that they will not text and  driving.

While the idea is great one, the reality is too many people drive while talking, texting and tweeting.

If there is one thing learned from the death from Dr. Ryan is that not  text, tweet or even phone call is worth one’s life.

If  it is  something urgent, pull over some place and take care of your business that way.

 If that’s not an option, he’s a novel idea…wait.
